Tribute to David Hucker, 1943 - 2026

Dave I've known you for as long as I can remember. You were friends with mum and dad (Ann and Reevley) before becoming our next door neighbour in the mid 80s. I have so many childhood memories of you from coming round your house to hang out with Steve and, obviously, at the cricket club. You were the cricket club! As a kid, those days in the 80s, spending many hours in and around the club hold a very fond place in my heart. So many characters there of which you were the one overseeing it all. So many of you sadly now gone, but always thought of fondly. I suspect your all up there somewhere together sharing more drinks and tales. Thanks for the memories. You'll be sadly missed.

Wow Dave, where do I start 😳 I've known you since I was 16 & I started coming in the Cricket Club. You got cross with me a few times BUT a stern look bought me back in line 🤪 Then many many years later we ran the Legion together (and you were still getting cross with me 😁) Take it steady wherever you end up 😘

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
